Sport in Saigon Reviews – Shrine Clubhouse’s Match Day Pie

Shrine Clubhouse regulars will already be familiar but one of the venues sports viewing highlights is it’s game day pie, chips and salad. They also offer a sausage roll, chips and salad but unfortunately we haven’t tried it as we keep going back to the pie. We will get to it one day!

Is this the best pie in Saigon? There is some competition (all coming from venues featured on this page) but for now Sport in Saigon will confidently say it’s the best or very close. Or to put it simply as big pie fans it IS THE BEST we’ve tried in the city! (big claim and one we don’t take lightly)

Why are we so passionate about a meat pie you may ask? Well you should try for yourself, but, the light but solid pastry, meaty but tasty fillings, solid sides including chips (we’ve had mash upon order too), vegies and epic gravy come together as an ideal sport viewing meal. Last but not least the value! Only 99,000 vnd during live games (surely there’s ALWAYS a live game on somewhere, right? :-) )

We spoke to the Shrine Clubhouse’s Manager Tom Cutajar about the pie and discovered it’s 100% made in house which explains the unique style, taste and overall presentation. Shrine provides some of the finest dining in town so it’s not that surprising their chef is able to take a staple like a meat pie to another level.
Get down to Shrine Clubhouse this weekend during any game (or just make up some obscure sport and tell them it’s on right now) and try it for yourself!
