Chiefs coming in hot against frosty Steelers
By Harry Hodge
This week, Sport in Saigon is going to key on an inter-division matchup in the AFC with two teams trending in different directions as the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Pittsburgh Steelers. Expect nothing flashy from the Chiefs, who are 2-1 with a workmanlike approach from signal-caller Alex Smith and looking to replicate the success the Philadelphia Eagles enjoyed against Pittsburgh’s defence, picking the Steelers apart in a 34-3 trouncing. Fans should also expect Kansas City to pressure Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger early and often, who clearly were outmatched against Philadelphia after earlier victories over Washington and Cincinnati. The Chiefs are coming in hot to Pittsburgh after laying a beating on the New York Jets, 24-3. Kansas City is also hoping running back Jamaal Charles will return to the lineup, providing a boost both emotionally and from the backfield.
The Steelers are hoping for a jumpstart of their own at tailback, with Le’Veon Bell returning for this week’s game. If Bell struggles, expect Deangelo Williams to be inserted into the game after providing steady production while Bell was suspended for the first three games of the regular season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
